THE AKSHARA MONTESSORI HOUSE OF CHILDREN A Pre-school with a DIFFERENCE. Established in November 2001. Little children of 2 ½ years + 1 come and enjoy “Learning by Doing”. Introduced by Madame Maria Montessori, this practical method of learning has proved to be a very fruitful system to children. Equipped with the authentic Montessori material, and handled by trained guides in a ratio of 1:12 children, 95 little tots come happily to experience a day of “learning by doing”. The management looks forward to starting the THIRD year of the course, and the Standard I & II as the little ones are ready for it in June 2004 – and continuing this into a full fledged school as the little ones progress. YENEPOYA SCHOOL OF SECONDARY EDUCATIONwill be one of its kind in Karnataka. The correct pronunciation of the alphabet,simple conversation and vocabulary is introduced along with Activity sessions so that the child enjoys the beauty of music,story,rhythm and dance at this tender age. SPOKEN ENGLISH COURSES For working people in and around Mangalore. This is either done in batches or in two’s before and after working hours as requested by the students taking the course. These are 40 hour courses. Classes for ladies are held during the day on request. FINE ARTS CLASSES are offered to students in Self Development, Elocution, Singing, Drawing and Dancing.These classes are held on Saturdays from 3.30-5.30pm. LOOKING AHEAD Plans are afoot, to start A DRAMA and SPEECH Centre at the Y.C.D.S. affiliated to the TRINITY COLLEGE OF LONDON is being worked upon, wherein the students can qualify in the Drama and Speech(External) examinations being conducted in the City annually. These exams are for EIGHT GRADES and TWO DIPLOMAS. This INTERNATIONAL SYLLABUS is well planned in giving the child correct development in "Speech and Self Confidence". The examinations also carry the Q.C.A Certificate( akin to the ISO) wherein a candidate carrying the same in his portfolio, is entitled to a +10 straight away, at any interview / competition he attends.
